A group of small business owners in Colorado made this clear to Rep. Cory Gardner in response to his solicitation for feedback. He asked small business owners in the state for ideas on what it would take for them to boost hiring, and the responses were also communicated to President Obama in a report.
Recommendations based on the feedback from small businesses included creating a more predictable business environment, promoting development of the workforce and boosting capital available to small business. Ideas to jump start lending included setting up a clearinghouse to spread risk by bundling small business loans.
